I have two Bachelor of Science degrees, one in Agricultural Engineering from South Dakota State University and another in Accounting from Minnesota State University, Mankato. I guess that I have always had somewhat of a passion for numbers and the problems they solve and the stories they tell—i.e. I’m somewhat of a nerd. I came to Mankato in 1986 to look for work. I worked at local printing company while I got my accounting degree, and then immediately found a job at the area’s local battered women’s shelter where I worked for many years. I have just opened a coffee shop, bliss. . .java, chocolate and more with my best friend. I hope that it will some day be successful enough that I can give back to the nonprofit world in a financial way.
